Reaching people for Christ

Our mission to share the hope that is found in Jesus Christ remains stronger than ever. As our field country staff and volunteers find themselves restricted in their ability to carry out their usual activities, we are adapting and finding ways to support the families and vulnerable people we work with.

As each country situation unfolds rapidly, our staff are working to ensure they can support the poor and marginalised through this time. If you are able to continue to support MWB in prayer, in raising awareness of what we do and the current impact of this work, and in continuing to support us financially we would be incredibly grateful.

Right now, the most powerful gift is a regular monthly donation to enable us to continue adapting to the changing global world.

A message from Stephen Young

In this unprecedented global pandemic that is impacting every one of our field and fundraising countries across the world.

Please join us in continuing to pray for God’s protection for those affected and wisdom to deal with this unprecedented global situation and for those making decisions  – our governments and health experts around the world - as they look to contain the spread of this virus.

Mission Without Borders affirms that we are extremely grateful for your prayers and ongoing support. We are prayerfully seeking wisdom, asking for protection and our supporters are also very much in our prayers at this time. As a Mission we are also praying for you, our supporters, our staff and our boards.

Our work continues...

Our Soup Kitchens continue to offer food to families and the elderly in all our countries. Ukraine has still been able to offer hot meals (delivered to the elderly), but the others offer packet or tinned food parcels for recipients to take home.

Our After School programmes for children in their communities offer packaged meals for them to take home instead of sit-down, hot meals.

Our Bible Correspondence programme is steadily growing and provides good contact with the children. An increasing number of children as well as adults have also been signing up for it.

Albania and Bosnia & Herzegovina have been able to continue with some outreach meetings for children and young people, such as teenage and children’s groups, and Bible studies.

All of our family workers continue to be busy, delivering to families regular food and hygiene parcels, clothing, shoes and other practical help, and providing emotional support, prayer, and advice to parents and caregivers.

While we couldn’t offer summer camps in the usual way, our field staff have offered shorter alternatives that met coronavirus requirements.

Soup kitchen delivering food in Romania

Our Soup Kitchen in Danes normally feeds 45 children each weekday. Now the volunteers are making sandwiches and delivering them one day a week to the children. On the other days they deliver a food parcel to last the rest of the week.

Our staff continue to adapt

Food for the elderly in Bosnia & Herzegovina

We are still able to deliver food to the many elderly we serve. For most this involves a week’s worth of packaged food, for others it is a hot meal delivered on their doorstep. For many our food is their only supply that week.

Food parcels to sponsored children in Moldova

Before the lockdown in Moldova, we were able to pack and distribute food parcels to all our sponsored children in communities. Each food parcel included enough food for six weeks. Our staff are now keeping in contact with children via phone where possible, to provide them and their family support.
