If it hadn’t been for you, I wouldn’t have survived!

Experiencing that is beyond words...

Luisa's Story

“What parent doesn’t want their child to grow up calm and happy? It’s hard to imagine how a parent must feel when their child tells them that his classmates are laughing at him because he doesn’t have the crayons or pencils that he needs for school.”

Spaska works for Mission Without Borders, supporting Roma families living in poverty. Every day, she sees parents struggling to raise their children on meagre wages, unable to afford the expensive school supplies that schools require every pupil to bring.

Finding Hope...

Luisa described her plight: “I never imagined being disabled, without a pension, and with no roof over my head.” Reaching out to MWB for assistance, Luisa found hope.

Marina shared, “Luisa heard about our support for people with disabilities and reached out. I began visiting her at the shelter, bringing daily food since the shelter didn’t provide meals. Initially, she was very discouraged. We read from the Bible and spoke of God’s love, and helped her secure the necessary documents for her pension.”

Marina continued, “Luisa was amazed by the care we showed without asking for anything in return. She once asked, ‘Why are you doing so much for me? What have I done to deserve this?’ I told her it was God’s love through Mission Without Borders.”

As Luisa attended Bible lectures at our Elder Care clubs, she made new friends and found comfort in her faith. Marina noted, “We thank the Lord for the Elder Care project, which reaches about 450 people with disabilities with the gospel.”

Luisa expressed her gratitude: “Thank you for supporting me during the toughest time of my life and for the daily food. I’m so grateful you didn’t abandon me. Without you, I wouldn’t have survived.”

Sadly, Luisa passed away a few months ago. Before her death, she experienced both the gospel and genuine care. She found joy, community, and support in her final days, thriving despite her hardships.
